Gifting a wedding sculpture: What to consider

“Etruscan Couple 2” positioned on the edge of a pond
When it comes to choosing a meaningful wedding gift, couples often receive household items, vouchers, or experiences. But what better way to honour the happy couple than by treating them to a bespoke wedding sculpture that captures the essence of their bond? A sculpture is not only a timeless piece of art but also a deeply personal reminder of love, commitment, and togetherness, displayed in a beautiful and tangible form.

Why choose a sculpture as a wedding gift?
Many sculptures celebrate the connection between two people, making them ideal for weddings. Unlike traditional gifts that may fade or wear out, a sculpture endures. Better still, it often becomes part of the couple’s shared home, marking the start of their life together with an artwork that reflects their relationship.
A wedding sculpture is more than a decorative object. It’s a piece of art that resonates with relationships, honouring both the joys and complexities of love. By gifting such a sculpture, you’re not just giving a present – you’re offering a lasting symbol of the commitment made by the couple, that they can treasure throughout their marriage.
These pieces are equally fitting for heterosexual and same-sex couples, as the gestures, emotions, and themes they portray speak universally about intimacy, support, and love. Whether through a tender embrace, a protective huddle, or the playfulness of two figures in motion, each work highlights a different aspect of what it means to share a life with someone.
Sizes, materials, and prices
Wedding sculptures come in different sizes, materials, and price ranges, allowing you to select one that suits both your budget and the couple’s lifestyle:
- Small sculptures (20–30 cm) are ideal for the home. These pieces sit beautifully on a bookshelf, windowsill, or bedside table.
- Medium sculptures (50–70 cm) are more versatile pieces that can be displayed on a plinth in the garden, or indoors as a striking feature on a sideboard or console table.
The choice of material also adds meaning: bronze resin offers a more accessible and affordable option, while solid bronze carries an heirloom quality, designed to last for generations.
Style and symbolism

Sculptures vary in style and interpretation.
Some sculptures leave gender or specific anatomy vague. This abstraction makes them universally symbolic, representing the emotional qualities of relationships rather than particular individuals. Gesture, posture, and head position are then emphasised to communicate love, empathy, trust, playfulness or commitment.
This symbolism within these works makes them especially relevant as wedding gifts. Below are some of the meanings expressed in my sculptures.
Physical closeness and embrace
- Big Embrace symbolises passion and intimacy. The tight physical contact shows desire, love, and the strength of the connection between partners.
- Large Hug represents emotional nurturance and comfort, showing care, support, and reassurance rather than sexual intimacy.
- Huddling suggests a tender, protective closeness, where one partner offers support or shelter to the other in a safe and caring manner.
Mutual support and togetherness
- Standing Together shows mutual support and partnership. Both figures are close, balanced, and steady, reflecting the emotional and practical interdependence in a committed relationship.
- Etruscan Couple 1 & 2 conveys companionship and commitment.

Playfulness and collaboration
- Flying Couple expresses joy, playfulness, and interdependence. The lifted or dynamic pose highlights energy, trust, and the fun side of being in a relationship.
Ambivalence and balance
- Coming Together, Dancing Apart captures the tension between intimacy and independence. The figures may be connected but slightly apart, representing the natural push and pull in a relationship, and the need for both closeness and personal space.
Each sculpture tells a story, whether that’s shaped around passion, empathy, shared experiences, or the subtle tensions that shape every relationship. View couple sculptures on my website.
